What do you love about working at 1000 Mile?
I love that we all work so closely together and are like one big family. A big bonus is that we have the ability to work anywhere in the world.
What made you decide to jump into the travel industry and why?
It wasn’t until I came back from working up at the Whitsundays that I realised I wanted to help people create memorable holidays. I had a friend who worked as a travel agent who said it would be something I’d enjoy because every day was different. After that I completed my travel course – now 15 years on and I’m still loving it!
What is your favourite travel memory?
There are so many and each one is so different. I really can’t go past the time my husband proposed to me on a paddle boat in the middle of Lake Lucerne though. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to.
What has been your most challenging travel memory?
Travelling around America for five weeks with an eight month old and a two year old, which also included driving on the other side of the road in a manual car!!
What’s your favourite airline to travel with and why?
It would have to be Etihad Airlines. They’re so family friendly – they even have an on-board nanny!
What’s your favourite travel perk working as a travel agent?
Being able to experience the destinations I send my clients to. My last work trip was to the Maldives – it’s going to be a hard one to top!
What’s next on your travel bucket list?
Taking the family to the Santa Clause Village at the Arctic Circle in Lapland Finland.
