What do you love about working at 1000 Mile?
I love the flexibility that we have to work remotely. The ability to work in an environment where there’s opportunity for change and growth is also very rewarding. I love having the support of people around me who have a genuine interest in seeing me succeed.

What made you decide to jump into the travel industry and why?
Ironically, I thought I would get to travel a whole lot but this wasn’t the case. I do love booking travel for others and living vicariously through these people though. I have always had a love of Geography, countries and cultures too so it seems like it’s a match made in heaven.

What is your favourite travel memory?
Too many to choose from! A stand out would have road tripping in the USA with mates – we drove from Washington DC to Florida Keys while stopping along the way and having a young a free adventure. Florida Keys was probably the best part of the trip because of the people we got to encounter. It was party town, and when you are young and always up for a party, having fun with old and young people alike was something else. Seeing Alligators and Dragon Lizards up close also stayed with me for a long time.

What has been your most challenging travel memory?
Being pregnant in Mexico unawares and not understanding why my favourite drink Tequila was not going down so well. It all made perfect sense when I got home to discover the obvious.

What’s your favourite airline to travel with and why?
Air New Zealand – Business class is amazing!!! Need I say more?

What’s your favourite travel perk working as a travel agent?
Getting awesome agent rates last minute. A few years back I got to travel to South Africa with my family a day before Christmas in Premium economy for a great fare.

What’s next on your travel bucket list?
South America, the Maldives, North Africa – there are too many to choose from!
